405 Magazine
Business Model, Theory of Change
405 Magazine connects an engaged, affluent Oklahoma City audience with high-quality local businesses through trusted, locally focused media. We solve a growing challenge for businesses: reaching the right consumers and building meaningful brand awareness in an increasingly fragmented media landscape. We offer integrated marketing partnerships across print, digital, social media, newsletters, events and custom content. Our clients are primarily premium local businesses that compete on brand, experience and reputation rather than price. Our value is built around three strengths: Audience, Authority and Access. We have cultivated a loyal, community-minded audience, established 405 Magazine as a trusted voice in Oklahoma City, and created multiple ways for businesses to connect with consumers. We differentiate ourselves by combining the quality and credibility of a premium print publication with the reach, frequency and measurable results of digital media and in-person experiences. Our growth strategy focuses on expanding digital revenue, growing our newsletter and social audiences, strengthening signature events and developing creator partnerships. We plan to fund growth primarily through operating cash flow and reinvested profits while continuing to build a diversified, sustainable revenue model.
Biggest Organizational Needs
Our biggest organizational need is continuing to evolve how businesses understand and engage with 405 Magazine. We want to be seen as more than a print advertising outlet and instead as a true marketing and community partner for businesses that want to invest in both their own growth and the good of Oklahoma City. While print remains an important and valuable part of our brand, our capabilities extend far beyond the pages of the magazine. We offer digital and social campaigns, newsletters, events, custom content, creator partnerships and other tailored opportunities that allow us to build strategic partnerships around each client’s goals. We would value help refining how we communicate this broader value proposition, structure these partnerships and position 405 Magazine as a trusted resource for businesses that care deeply about the community they serve. Ultimately, we want our growth to create a greater impact: helping strong local businesses thrive while using our platform and partnerships to contribute to a flourishing Oklahoma City.
Redemptive Opportunity
405 Magazine’s redemptive opportunity is to use the influence of media to strengthen our city rather than simply capture its attention. In an industry increasingly driven by negativity, division and clickbait, we believe local media can instead highlight what is good, tell stories that matter and help people feel more connected to the community around them. We see our role as more than producing a magazine. Through our print, digital platforms and events, we celebrate local businesses, share meaningful stories, elevate people making a difference and create opportunities for genuine connection. We want our work to leave Oklahoma City better than we found it. Our faith shapes how we lead and operate. Servant leadership is central to our culture: no task is beneath leadership, people are valued over position, and our team is encouraged to serve one another and our community with excellence, integrity and generosity. We also believe our workplace itself is an opportunity to reflect Christ’s love through the way we treat every person who joins our team, regardless of their beliefs. We view our audience, influence and resources as something we have been entrusted to steward well. By choosing truth over sensationalism, service over self-interest and meaningful impact over attention alone, we hope to demonstrate what media can look like when business is used as a force for good.
