Business Model, Theory of Change

Skyward Financial Solutions is CFO Advisory and Accounting firm that serves non-profit and for profit organizations. We help provide financial clarity to businesses by providing clean reporting and strategy for them to accomplish their wins and reach their goals. The reason why Skyward began was to fill in the gap in this area. Many people/organizations need this level of support but don’t have the resources to have someone on their team full-time to fill this role. I fell the unique thing about Skyward is that for us, everything is driven by relationship. How we serve clients, how we conduct meetings, how we go above and beyond for clients, how we show up for eachother internally as an organization, it all stems from relationship. It is the heartbeat of what we dow, why we do it, and how we do it. Our company values spell “SERVE”, (Stewardship, Excellence, Relationship, Versatility, Excellence. Relationship is in the middle of it, holding everything together. I really don’t view other firms or financial organizations as competitors. If anything I view them as collaborators. I’ve worked with several firms to serve clients vs my firm trying to do everything alone. As a person and a professional, I look for ways to collaborate with people, not compete against them.

Biggest Organizational Needs

I would love help with growth strategies, being exposed to ways I can operate better as a leader that better serves my organization. I also would love help with creative ways to tangibly love my clients like Jesus. I tell clients we serve beyond the numbers but I always feel there’s more we can do there. I don’t want to just have an accounting firm, I want to journey with people through life.

Redemptive Opportunity

Skyward provides financial visibility, access to CFO-level strategy without the cost of a full-time hire and help prepare organizations for lender/growth readiness. We also help organizations steward their resources greater by implementing internal controls and creating fraud risk assessments. All in all we’re translating financial complexity into decisions owners can act upon. The thing I love about what we do is that I truly feel like it’s ministry. To be able to lift the arms of leaders and help carry the weight that they me feel from the lack of financial clarity or strategy in their organization. When this weight is lifted, they are more present at home with their families. Typically, less stressers at work reduces the stress at home, which reduces divorce rates, which increases more thriving families. I feel that it’s all connected. Every line item has a purpose. Over the years we have partnered with other businesses and nonprofits to serve people in the OKC metro community with various needs such as backpacks for kids, rent for the single moms, immigration fees, etc. We love showing up for people. Ethics is value of our company and I feel my love for doing things the right way is the driving part of that. While being in the accounting industry my entire career, I’ve been exposed to cases where ethics weren’t;t the driving force and those situations often lead to betrayal, affairs, addiction, job loss, jail-time, as well suicide. Stewardship drives our ethics.
