Business Model, Theory of Change
Our business model was formulated by former software/technology owners, members
of the House of Representatives and successful business owners. It was crafted in a
way that allows it to fit in multiple different models. First and foremost is B2G. Selling
directly to the government would allow for easy statewide adoption and mass
implementation. Secondly, each police department has an annual budget that allocates
a high percentage of funds to technology and public safety efforts/systems. Finally,
BlueJay is a very cost efficient product allowing for revenue to be made quickly. If
necessary, BlueJay can fit into many departments “go ahead” budget while still allowing
the business to run successfully.
Biggest Organizational Needs
Support and mentorship. As a beginning business owner,
there are still so many fields that I have yet to explore. Having support, both for my
cause and in business have helped me overcome my fear of making the wrong turn on
this road to business ownership.
Redemptive Opportunity
I’ve always loved helping others. There is no deed too big or small. Years ago, I took the
enneagram test, and discovered I was a 2. The 2 is “the helper.” I have always felt an
inner desire to help those around me. This calling was amplified in 2016 when Philando
Castile was killed in front of his wife and children during a traffic stop. Shortly after, here
in Oklahoma, Terrence Crutcher was killed in Tulsa. I didn’t know what to do, but I felt
something had to be done. What started as a mission to stop these senseless killings
during traffic stops, evolved into how can others who are suffering similarly also be
advocated for? This involved me to involve multiple communities AND law enforcement.
This collaboration turned into a product that helps everyone. Which satisfied my hunger
to bring some change to this world while I’m in it.
