Meet Dr. Phillicia Hawkins, DPT, a dynamic force in the world of physical therapy and entrepreneurship. Hailing from the heart of Oklahoma City, Dr. Hawkins brings both professionalism and a sprinkle of fun to her work.
Driven to cultivate a workplace where employees relish coming to work, and enjoying a healthy work-life balance, Dr. Hawkins embarked on establishing her physical therapy business, Bodyworx Physical Therapy in 2013 and starting in 2017 alongside her brother, Corey Smith, has grown Bodyworx into multiple locations. Dr. Hawkins’ passion for patient care and dedication to advancing treatment practices led her to ensure that patients have access to state-of-the-art equipment, fostering an environment where healing thrives. Her knack for leadership has been honed through years of experience in both non-profit and for-profit organizations.
Recognized for her outstanding contributions, Dr. Hawkins has racked up an impressive array of awards, including accolades from the Woman of Color Expo Entrepreneur of the Year 2024, OKC Black Chamber of Commerce Small Business of the Year 2024, Top Physical Therapist in Oklahoma City 2017-2024, Marquis Who's Who in America, Continental's Who's Who Registry, and the prestigious GHP Most Comprehensive Physiotherapy Clinic title, to name a few. She's also a graduate of the SBA THRIVE program, a testament to her business acumen.
Dr. Hawkins also proudly serves as a board member for the Red Cross and is a member of the OKC Black Chamber of Commerce, further demonstrating her commitment to community service and economic empowerment.
Dr. Hawkins earned her stripes, quite literally, with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Langston University in 2008, preceded by a Master's in Health Administration in 2005 and a Bachelor's from Xavier University in 1998.
Beyond her professional pursuits, Dr. Hawkins is a devoted mother of two who thrives on embarking on new adventures with her kids. When she's not busy healing bodies and minds, you can find her enjoying hearty laughs with friends and family or cheering passionately for her favorite football and basketball teams.
Driven by her passion for improving people's overall health and quality of life, Dr. Hawkins is deeply involved in volunteering for church and community activities. She's also committed to nurturing the next generation of entrepreneurs, lending her expertise to Langston University's Physical Therapy DPT program and has offered business coaching through coaching firms and independently.

Corey has a passion for problem-solving and strategic planning that led to advising clients on optimizing project outcomes, mitigating risks, and implementing best practices. Corey has a passion and heart to help people regardless of the hurt inside of the help.

He loves spending time with family, he is a huge Dallas Cowboys fan and the #1 Oklahoma University fan (Boomer Sooner). When not spending time with family or following OU, Corey can be found playing a good game of Chess.
