EmpathyEd
Business Model, Theory of Change
Our hybrid business model includes a for-profit training school (EmpathyEd LLC) and a
nonprofit arm (EmpathyEd Healthcare Training Initiative). We earn revenue through
tuition, government-funded workforce development programs (e.g., SNAP, WIOA), and
CPR/CMA/med aide trainings. We also pursue grants for wraparound services and
youth initiatives.
Biggest Organizational Needs
Our key levers for growth are: strategic
partnerships, modular hybrid courses,
culturally responsive student support, and childcare partnerships.
Redemptive Opportunity
Our work is deeply redemptive, rooted in the belief that education can restore dignity,
build families, and heal communities. We are called to serve those who are often
excluded from opportunity: single moms and low-income adults. As a Native and Black
woman-founded venture grounded in Christian values, we lead with both strategy and
spirit.
